CELEBRATING GRANDPARENTSIn honor of grandparents, Oglethorpe Point Elementary School is
hosting a Grandparents' Lunch on Friday, September 5, 2014. Grandparents are
encouraged to visit the Cafeteria at Oglethorpe Point and eat lunch with a
grandchild. Guest meals are $3 per plate and may be paid for in the Cafeteria.
Lunch choices will be Mac & Cheese with Roll, Chicken Sliders with Z-Sauce,
PB&J Sandwich, or Chef Salad. Side choices are Corn Nuggets, Green Peas,
Carrot Sticks with Dip, Strawberry Cups, & a Carnival Cookie.

symphony and made it! It
took a lot of hard work, and we are very proud of them!
The homecoming game AND dance are on Friday, September
26. The game begins at 6pm and the dance begins at 8:30pm. This year’s theme is
Dancing through the Decades. Additionally, this year’s dance is a more casual
atmosphere…feel free to dress to the theme of 60s 70s and 80s or simply wear a

As has been our annual tradition,
we will honor SME grandparents by inviting them to join us for lunch by grade
levels. A flyer about this event will be sent home right after Labor Day.

We encourage everyone to wear red, white and blue in support of our patriots, those who defend and
protect us and keep us safe and free. This would include not only military
personnel, but also law enforcement, fire fighters, Border Patrol, veterans,
emergency aid workers, etc.
