Fifth Grade Flashmob
At the celebration assembly held on the last day of school, Fifth Graders broke out into a flashmob dance to recognize the end of their years in elementary school. Congratulations, 5th grade class of 2015!
Every student at GIES enjoyed choosing a book of their very own to start off their summer ready to read! Each teacher brought their class to the media center to pick out books! This event was made possible due to the book fair fundraiser.

Desk/Chair Essay Winners!
Six lucky hurricanes were awarded a new desk and chair thanks to the generosity of Gary Burnett, a local businessman whose company, UDA Star Foundation, provides tools that will help children become better learners. He donated the six desks and chairs to GMS, and students had to write an essay about how much it would mean to them to have these items in their home, and how they would use the desks to improve their learning. Mr. Burnett also donated four Kindle HD6 tablets to the media center earlier this year, which were used for student checkout of electronic books.
