Schools, administrative offices closed for holidays
All Glynn County public schools and
administrative offices will be closed for the Christmas holidays from Monday,
Dec. 22, 2014 through Friday, Jan. 2, 2015. Administrative offices will open on Monday, Jan. 5 and the second
semester will begin for students on Wednesday, Jan. 7.Best wishes for a joyous and safe holiday season!
Parker's presents PumpPerks proceeds to Pirates
part of its PumpPerks program, The Parker Companies has made a contribution to
the general fund at Brunswick High School. Parker’s contributes one penny from
every gallon of gas sold on the first Wednesday of each month to local schools.
to Patrick Parker, president of The Parker Companies, the money is pooled from
sales at 11 different Parker’s locations in southeast Georgia. Customers who
have a PumpPerks card from Parker’s can nominate their favorite school when
they enroll online for the discount gas program.

A Vist from Jingles the Elft
Students enjoyed a visit from "Jingles the Elf". She read "The GEORGIA Night Before Christmas" by E. J. Sullivan and Illustrated by Christena Brooks. Then she talked with the students and gave each one a candy cane. Thanks to Macy Futch, a Glynn County Substitute Teacher, that volunteered to visit each of the classes at F.A.C.E.S.
The Gift of.....A Place of One's Own
Five Greer students received wonderful gifts on December 15 when gleaming, new white desks from the "uda-star" program were presented to them.This local project generously provides user-friendly study desks that naturally encourage and motivate students to set aside a place and a time for academics at home. ROLL Reception for Ownership!
Our second ROLL Reception was held recently to honor those students who were selected by their teachers as great role models for Ownership. The reception is part of our PBIS program which targets and rewards positive student behaviors. If you see these students, please congratulate them! Student & Staff Support Local Causes
The faculty and students at Risley Middle School really got into the spirit of giving this holiday season as they raised money for two local charities during our annual "Pay To See A Teacher Dress Like An Elf" fundraiser. Ms. Henry and Coach Hickson were the two faculty members who raised the most money for these two causes. Over $220.00 was raised for Safe Harbor and Relay for Life. NMS Mini-Cheer Camp - Saturday, January 24, 2015
NMS is hosting a mini-cheer camp for Pre-K through 5th grade girls on Saturday, January 24, 2015, from 11:30 am until 3:00 pm. Participants will perform during halftime of the NMS boys' basketball game on Wednesday, January 28. The cost of the camp is $40, and applications and fees are due no later than Wednesday, January 21. A copy of the application is posted below.

Model UN Awards
The Model UN competed in a two day competition at College of
Coastal Georgia. The Glynn Academy team was awarded the first ever
“Outstanding High School” award. The Model UN president, Jasmine
Gates, and the Model UN co-advisor, Ellie Snow, were the guiding forces
behind this team and deserve the credit for the team’s success. Please
congratulate these delegates who were recognized for their stellar performances.

Christmas Strings and Chorus Concert Photos!
The GMS Christmas strings and chorus concert was held Tuesday night, and the audience was given the opportunity to hear some very talented hurricanes! It was just an awesome show!
